Pension Education in Cambodia: Empowering Garment Workers | MangoTango Case Study

Benefits Education for Cambodia's Garment Workers: Animating Social Security

ILO and NSSF Partner with MangoTango to Explain Government Schemes Through Engaging Visual Storytelling

The Challenge:

To reach out to garment workers based in Cambodia to explain the benefits of joining the pension scheme provided by the Cambodian government.

The Process:

MangoTango worked closely with the ILO (International Labor Organization) and NSSF (National Social Security Fund) to gain a better understanding of the pension scheme. We worked together to understand the daily life and the struggles faced by Cambodian garment workers, and then used this information to create a simple and easy-to-understand script to explain the benefits to Cambodians.

The Outcome:

MangoTango created an engaging three-minute video with a Khmer voice-over accompanied by English subtitles. The animated video tells an immersive story that allows garment workers to relate with the characters in the video, gain an extensive understanding of what the pension scheme entails, and how joining this scheme will benefit them.

The Result:

Increased awareness surrounding the benefits of the pension scheme and an explanation of how it is not exclusively offered to public workers but also private workers, specifically to individuals in the garment sector.
